Fine Thai food at Golden Buddha Resort Dining is a very important element of any vacation experience. With this in mind, every effort is made to ensure that the quality of our food is a set at a very high level with a focus on Thai dishes and locally sourced ingredients. We take pride in the use of only fresh ingredients – no frozen food at Golden Buddha Beach Resort. Lunch and dinner are arranged as a buffet, offering a variety of dishes that include both fresh fish and vegetarian dishes. Breakfast is a la carte with a selection of Thai and Western choices. In addition to our own coconuts and papayas, Golden Buddha Beach Resort is currently working with local communities to both grow and source organic produce from the island, for inclusion in our dishes. Our Breakfast From 7 to 10 we serve a limitless a la carte breakfast on our shady clubhouse patios. Chose from toast made with home-baked bread, a selection of Thai rice and noodle dishes, Western dishes such as muesli with homemade yogurt, a variety of omelets, French toast and fruit filled pancakes. These are accompanied by fresh coffee and tea plus a selection of juices and seasonal fresh fruit.
In December and January bread and toast is enhanced with homemade hibiscus jam from flowers grown in the resort. Fruit varies by season. The intense March and April sun brings us melt-in-your mouth mangoes, rambutans and mangosteens. Our Lunch Lunch is served at 1pm and consists of at least one spicy, truly Thai dish similar to that preferred by our staff and another dish prepared with the Western palate in mind. A favorite is Thai style fried chicken (Gai Tod) and green papaya salad (Som Tom). This is followed by fresh fruit or a Thai style dessert such as camerlised bananas in coconut milk or fresh mango with sticky rice.
Our Dinner
Dinner is our main meal and is served on the upper floor of the Clubhouse overlooking the Andaman Sea one hour after sunset. At dinner we serve a large assortment of seafood, chicken, pork and vegetarian dishes. Hardly a night goes by when our Chef does not prepare whole fresh fish or fresh curried crabs. Dinner is a time for friends and family to dine together and review the day's activities and plan tomorrow's adventures. After dinner enjoy a cognac or cappuccino while making new friends on the patio bar. This is a great time to learn about the Naucrates marine conservation program or our whale shark exploration program which was developed in collaboration with the well known marine biologist, Brad Norman . We are pleased to cater to special dietary needs as well as the needs of children. Thai style cooking easily conforms to low dairy or wheat-free diets. The resort's former manager, Lory Follador, worked with chef Bo Bee to develop recipes with reduced amounts of sugar, salt and oil for a more healthful diet. Sample dinner menu: Sweet and Sour fish soup Stir-fried locally produced vegetables Thai green curry with fresh prawns Fresh Sea Bass cooked with coriander and chili “Pad Thai” Thai noodles with bean sprouts, chicken, egg and spices Steamed jasmine rice Selection of fresh tropical fruit

Even at the last minute, Thanya can usually organise this with a 24 hour notice.
We have staff that love to baby-sit; thus if your kids would like an evening at home without parental supervision, please ask for a sitter. To avoid disappointment, please ask early. |
