Description:
After ascending the stairs you come to a large covered veranda almost equal in size to the interior living/sleeping quarters. An integrated bench wraps around the entire veranda on three sides with the fourth side opening into the house. Cushions are laid about so lounging is easy and comfortable from almost anywhere. A wooden table centerpiece completes the veranda.

Before entering Baan Tantawan the first thing you will notice is the unique sliding door construction. In fact the entire front wall and both sides of the house are multi-sectional sliding doors. This allows you to either completely open up the entire house or selectively open just a few doors to ensure your privacy.

Once inside, the bright yellow color scheme creates a clean modern look to a classic Thai beach house. High ceilings and hard wood floors set the tone. Centered against the back wall is a king size bed with an integrated mosquito net. Matching night stands adorn either side of the bed.

On the far left side of the room a short hallway extends to the bathroom at the back of the house. Against the side wall is an integrated closet, shelves, and drawers for all of your clothes and personal belongings.

The bathroom's black stone floors complement Baan Tantawan's modern look. The walls go up to neck level for maximum privacy and are open at the top for excellent air circulation. A cool shower complements this truly tropical designed bathroom. A western style toilet and vanity unit completes the bathroom.

Recommendations:
Baan Tantawan is an excellent choice for couples of any age. Its close proximity to the restaurant and bar make it very convenient for late nights or early mornings. Electricity goes off at 11 pm, so until then you may be able to hear music if there is a party at the bar. Because this is a beach back house, it is not as exposed to the elements during the rainy season. The beach, however, is only a minute's walk away. This house is also an ideal choice for the single traveler. Its convenient location makes it easy to meet new friends while enjoying a fresh brewed coffee at our café (while having the privacy of your home close by). Baan Tantawan's open spaces, elevated design, and large veranda define what island living is all about.
