Golden Buddha Beach Location
Golden Buddha Beach is located in the Andaman sea on the beautiful isolated island of Koh Phra Thong, about 160 km north of Phuket International Airport and 500km south of Bangkok.
Koh Phra Thong is the middle link in a chain of three islands. It is largely flat with expanses of inland savannah. It has long uninhabited beaches fringed by coconut palms.
To the North is Koh Ra, which is long and mountainous and covered in ancient rain forest. This terrain is quite inhospitable to humans but does contain a large number of animal species.
To the South is Koh Kho Khao, which is a destination that is already starting to become a new tourist destination with a similar geography to Koh Phra Thong.

The region of Thailand is called Phang Nga. Phanga Nga is a beautiful province south west of Bangkok with lots cultural and natural diversity. Geographically it varies from the warm waters and sandy beaches of the west coast’s Andaman Sea to the high mountain rain forests and jungle only 30km’s east. Culturally, it varies from the hip international resorts of Khao Lak to the quaint fishing villages of islands such as Koh Phra Thong.
Transportation to Golden Buddha Beach
Plane, Car & Boat
This is the most common means of getting to Golden Buddha. Most people fly to the international airport in Phuket or local airports in Krabi or Surathani. We will then arrange a low fuel consumption private taxi to meet you and bring you to Kuraburi fishing pier (approximately 2.5 hours). From here you will meet your local long tail boat for a 1.5-hour transfer to Golden Buddha Beach
Bus & Boat
There are many bus services from basic to Luxury to Kuraburi from Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi. Buses can be fun and a great cultural experience in Thailand and the Government run bus services are excellent and generally very effective and comfortable. From Kuraburi Golden Buddha will then arrange your Long Tail boat ride to Koh Phra Thong.
