Description:
What used to be the guest house for the remarkable Baan Yuth, this unique two storey home has been completely remodeled. Now separate from its larger sister, Baan Yuth North boasts the same Mediterranean influenced design with elements of Thai architecture. High stucco walls are paired with indigenous wood and deep red shingles. A new expanded veranda, staircase, and a second storey private entrance complete the exterior renovation.

Downstairs, clay earthen tiles, make up both the entrance way and the floor inside the house. The choice for using these tiles is both functional and aesthetically pleasing (the low slip surface is perfect for the wet feet of island life). Inside the downstairs bedroom large widows punctuate the turquoise walls. A king size bed forms the centerpiece for the room.

Upstairs the new veranda is a great place to relax. The veranda leads to the upstairs entrance into the second storey bedroom. Similar in layout to the downstairs room, the main difference is the influence of Thai design and building materials. A king size bed completes the décor.

Both the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms boast their own new and spacious bathrooms. Each uses locally produced ceramic tiles for a clean and modern look. Western toilets, vanity units, and showers are on both floors.

Recommendations:
Baan Yuth North is one of the few houses that have private entrances both upstairs and down. This makes it a perfect choice for two couples or friends traveling together. Baan Yuth North is also a great option for budget travelers. Although just a minute's walk to the beach, this added distance provides excellent year round protection from the elements and is highly recommended during the monsoon months.
